False Pregnancy Test

Most pregnancy tests (home pregnancy tests) determine pregnancy through the detection of the hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in a woman’s urine. Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) is a hormone which is produced early in pregnancy by the placenta in great volume (hormone released by developing embryos). HCG detection in the urine and serum is the basis for most of pregnancy tests. Normally most variants of the home pregnancy test cannot be considered accurate until taken on the date or a few days after a missed period.
Sometimes home pregnancy test can yield false positive results for several reasons. Even a pregnancy test performed on blood can show a false positive under certain circumstances. In most cases we could have false negative pregnancy test. False positive pregnancy tests are rare, but they do occur.

Pills and Cancer

Birth control pills first became available in the early 1960s. The convenience, effectiveness, and reversibility of action of birth control pills have made them the most popular form of birth control. However, concerns have been raised about the role that the hormones in pills might play in a number of cancers, and how hormone-based pills contribute to their development.
Some studies have shown an increased risk of breast cancer in women taking birth control pills, while other studies have shown no change in risk. Birth control pills use has been shown in multiple studies to decrease the risk of ovarian and endometrial cancer. Birth control pills have been shown to increase the risk of cervical cancer; however, human papillomavirus is the major risk factor for this disease. The risk of liver cancer is increased in women who take birth control pills and are otherwise considered low risk for the disease.
Before starting birth control pills, you better read everything about it.

Bartholin cyst

Bartholin cyst (Bartholin's gland cyst) is a swollen fluid-filled lump that develops from a blockage of one of the Bartholin's glands. Bartholin glands are small glands located on each side of the opening to the vagina - in the lips of the labia that cover the vaginal opening. Bartholin glands are small and cannot be seen or felt when they are normal. Bartholin's gland cysts and/or abscesses are commonly found in women of reproductive age (20-45 year old). According to statistics, approximately 2% of all women have Bartholin cyst. The size of the cyst could be small (0.5-3 cm) or big up to 5-10 cm in diameter. In general the Bartolin glands provide moisture for the vulva area.

Sleep and Weight Loss

There is a notion among college students that sleep is not necessary, and that any missed sleep in one's youth can be recovered by "sleeping in" later in life. However, the amount of sleep a person gets directly affects how much he or she weighs.
The more sleep you get, the more growth hormone your body produces. Growth hormone maintains your body's lean muscle mass, and decreases body fat.
When people don't get enough sleep, they feel hungry all the time. The reason for this is because their bodies are not producing enough hydrocortisone.
Hydrocortisone controls a person's appetite as well as regulating glucose metabolism, blood pressure, insulin release, and immune system function.

Do eat more often, but less quantities. This helps keep our metabolism high (this is the process of breaking down foods into energy). Having an efficient metabolism means body will use energy at a faster rate and therefore fat stores will go down.
Don't skip breakfast
. The body has gone without food for many hours after you went to bed and it is in dire need of energy when you wake up. If you don't eat breakfast then: (a) your metabolism will be slow (b) you are more likely to stuff yourself at lunch and (c) you are just going against the natural way of things.
Do replace any fatty foods that you can (slowly over time) with healthier alternatives that you also enjoy. Never replace things you like with healthy things you hate, because it will not hold up for long term and will backfire.
Don't forget to drink water. If you don't drink it, the body will give you the signal of being hungry and you will end up eating for no reason. Try to keep water always near you and drink often and as much as you want (water is the only substance you can safely intake as much as you want).

Secure Days

Are women fertile whole month? Are there any secure days?
Yes, some days of the menstrual cycle are secure and each woman can make personal calculations for discovering secure days for unprotected sex.
Calculation is based on an observation that the ovulation in females takes place 2 weeks before periods. As we know that the menstrual cycles in women may not be on precise day every month, the calculation of the safe period should be done on the basis of duration of 12 previous cycles. First note down the shortest and the longest cycles during the last 12 cycles.
The first fertile day will be minus 18 days from shortest cycle.
The last fertile day would be minus 11 days from the longest cycle.
Discover examples and other calculation methods in following link.

CONDOM - what we need to know about condoms

Male condom is a sheath made to fit over the erect penis. It collects semen and acts as a barrier preventing passage of sperm into the vagina. The condom is available rolled in individual packets, and is unrolled onto the erect penis before intercourse. Most condoms are made of thin latex rubber. When used correctly at every act of intercourse, the condom can be a reasonably effective method of contraception. The latex condom is also an effective barrier to protect against the transmission of sexually transmitted infections (STDs), including transmission of HIV/AIDS.
Female condom is made of soft pliable polyurethane pre-lubricated with a silicone-based substance (dimethicone). It is inserted into the vagina before sexual intercourse. An inner ring is used for insertion and holds the condom in place high in vagina; an outer ring lies flat and covers the labia during sexual intercourse. After ejaculation, the female condom retains the seminal fluid, preventing it from coming into contact with the cervix.

First time sex

You might feel lots of anxieties, especially the first time you 'go all the way' - have intimate contact. You may feel embarrassed about how you look without your clothes on, or worried about your privacy being disturbed. It's natural to feel some worries but good communication will really help to prevent you feeling embarrassed or worried. You should be able to talk to your partner about how you feel about it for the first time, and about any concerns you may have. Your partner might be worried, too. Being relaxed and able to share things with your partner will really ease the tension. And if you're too shy, or you're not able to talk about these things with your partner - then you probably shouldn't be having close contacts!

In general pills are very popular. Often pills called also “birth control pills” and/or “combined pills” and/or “combined oral contraceptives (COC)”. The effectiveness of different brands is fluctuating between 95% - 99% (if correctly used!). You should take 1 pill every day at the same time until the packet is finished; you should not interrupt taking the pills before a packet is finished, even if you does not have sexual intercourse.
I would like to emphasize the importance of not forgetting any pill. If you miss one or more hormonal pills, you may have some spotting or breakthrough bleeding and, more importantly, you will be at a greater risk of becoming pregnant. The greatest risk is when you miss hormonal pills at the beginning or at the end of the cycle, because that is equivalent to prolonging the interval during which you do not take hormonal pills.
